Schmierseife

This gel soap is a specialty brush cleaner. It also works well for cleaning leather and woodwork. Depending on how heavily soiled your item is, mix 1/2 to 2 tsp of Schmierseife with 1/2 gallon of warm water. Soak the brush, wash it and then rinse in warm water. Be careful not to let the tips of fine hair brushes to sit on the bottom and curl. This product is wonderful for horrendously trashed and abused brushes. The brushes should come back to life and be nicely conditioned.
Ingredients: Water, potassium hydroxide, potassium carbonate, and olein.
